It provides form-fitting protection from bumps and scratches and extra protection when used inside the laptop compartment of any bag. During airport security, simply remove your laptop (in the sleeve) from your bag and place it in the security tray, so your laptop won’t get scratched by the dirt and small rocks often found in these trays.
